the overall event was amazing- it was not an attempt to launch a live channel , rather only a one off show; many novices got this confused and youtube let the conjecture ruminate.
And rightfully so. How better to position yourself amongst the top of a field you are not in by agreeing with people who are spouting off at the mouth with wrong information.
Youtube live was an expensive amazing event for online video.

I was quite disappointed myself when I heard they were using a third-party site to stream the event. Chen announced on Pop17 back in February that they would have live streaming before the end of the year, and I seriously expected them to use last night’s event to announce it (as I wrote in my blog). I guess we’ll see what happens in ‘09. Thank God for blogTV.
