Wordpress.com Outages

Wordpress.com is apparently experiencing some issues and a number of high-profile sites hosted on Autommattic’s servers, including Automattic.com, Scobleizer and the GigaOM blogs are down as a result.

Looks like Automattic keeps their important blogs on the same server as their site. Good times.

There is always some entertainment value in watching companies like this, which have become facilitators of the new information economy on the cheap explain what went went wrong on Monday morning.

UPDATE: Matt Mullenweg comments below:

Sorry for the problems you ran into. The upstream network issues that caused the problems are actually still ongoing, but we’ve switched the primary datacenter for most of the site so you shouldn’t be seeing problems like that anymore. (WordPress.com runs live out of 3 datacenters with distinct power and network providers.)
