Walmart Videos For Sale

When Walmart stopped using Flagler Productions as their video production house, they couldn’t have seen this coming.

When Walmart and the small video production company couldn’t come to terms on ownership of the content, Flagler looked for a new way to offset the loss of one of their largest clients - they began selling the footage they had.

Gene P. Graham Jr., lawyer for Flagler, told the Wall Street Journal that “Wal-Mart has no control over this stuff.”

Pardon the pre-roll, the video embed comes that way, but have a look at the WSJ’s video story:

Clearly a legal battle will ensue, but Flagler claims that there was nothing more than a handshake agreement, leaving all of the video content under their control, not the retailing giant’s. The Wall Street Journal reports that Wal-Mart accounted for more than 90% of Flagler’s revenue, and subsequently had to dismiss their 16-person work force.
