Thirtysomething Creators Launch Quarterlife on MySpace
Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick - the creative minds behind TV’s “Thirtysomething” and “My So-Called Life” are launching a new series of webisodes on MySpace.
“Quareterlife” will debut November 11th on MySpace along with its own social networking community at Quarterlife.com.
Two 8-minute episodes will be released each week. According to an article in the AP, revenue will be generated from ads places “in the video” as well as product placement.
Whether or not MySpace is exploring pre- or mid-roll advertising for its professionally produced, longer form content remains to be seen. MySpaceTV recently named online video veteran Tom Bosco as VP of Ad Sales. Bosco previously drove broadband strategy for MSN and AOL.
According to the IMDB, the show’s plot revolves around a magazine editor who keeps a video blog. How apropros. Check out the trailer on MySpaceTV.
