ScanScout Lands Funding & Faces
ScanScout, contextual, in-stream advertising technology providers, this morning announced that Time Warner Inc. has made a strategic investment in the company. Funding from Time Warner has long been speculated in the VC community, and is rumored to be near $10 million.
“ScanScout’s unique Brand Protector technology and its flexible ad model built around contextually relevant video content make it a compelling partner for us and our ability to serve the many premium brands we do business with,” said Rachel Lam, Senior Vice President for Time Warner Investments.
ScanScout also named new members to the board of directors.
Co-Founders Waikit Lau and Steven Lee, the company’s President and CTO, respectively; Doug McFarland, CEO, and Chris Fralic of FirstRound Capital, David Orfao and Neil Sequeira of General Catalyst Partners are joined by, Digitas COO Jim Rossman and Paul Vidich formerly of AOL and Warner Music Group as independent members, and Rachel Lam of Time Warner as a Board Observer with the announced investment.
