NBC Buys Quarterlife
That was fast. A few months after MySpace announced it would bring the TV-quality series to the web, NBC has acquired broadcast and international resale rights for Quarterlife reports the New York Times.
What began as a pilot rejected by ABC will now be broadcast on network television after a first run on MySpace.
It helps to have Hollywood credentials but if MSM says no to a good idea, online is a cheap way to back door its production. It will be interesting to see whether Quarterlife’s relative success online will translate into a hit in prime time.
