From the “Are You Kidding Me” Department
I’d like to say “only in New York,” except thats not the case. Maybe more like “only on YouTube.” Local news outlet NY1 points us to this video of Tricia Walsh-Smith, the estranged wife of the Shubert Organization’s president, Philip Smith.
If all the world is a stage, Ms. Walsh-Smith certainly takes the 15 minutes of Diva-like fame crown with this winner. And people still wonder why brands don’t want to advertise on YouTube. Go figure. If this is how New York socialites start to air their dirty laundry, the New York Post’s Page Six is going to need to launch their own “Video of the Day” section.

Wow! what else is there to say but Wow! She’s obviously off her rocker, but also perhaps brilliant… she’s the first woman I know of to pull a stunt like this… everyone who follows will quickly be ignored but I wouldn’t be surprised if she sees some very positive traction from this in the form of a settlement, a book/movie contract… both! Wow! Desperate…crazy…and inspired!

Actually, here in NYC, it seems almost cliche. The Guiliani/Donna Hanover press conference comes to mind. So does DontDateHimGirl.com (check out the video on their home page).
I think this opens the door to some serious slander and liable cases. We’ll be watching (and posting!)
