Faux Rudy2008 Campaign Ad
User generated content at its finest. The wave of faux-political ads hitting YouTube are fantastic, funny, scathing, and some are even true!
This one, tipped to us by OVW reader Chris Rogers (Thanks, Chris!), is fresh from the front pages, lampooning Thompson getting into the race and Larry Craig getting busted in a Minneapolis bathroom.
While the Red State Updates seem to be the most popular, there is no shortage of political satire videos floating around. Don’t forget to send your favorites our way!
We first covered these videos in July after The Daily Background speculated that they were tied to political consultancy Stevens, Reed, Curcio & Potholm, the company responsible for producing those damaging John Kerry Swift Boat ads in 2004.
Since then the firm has strongly denied a role in the videos, going so far as to threaten legal action and speculation about who is behind them has grown. It’s equally likely a democrat produced them to lampoon Republicans and discredit their consultant buddies. This is politics in 2008. Good times.
